Empowering Women of Nepal

At 3 Sisters Adventure Trekking and Empowering Women of Nepal (EWN), caring for the environment is not just an activity it’s a core value that shapes how we work, travel, and teach. We believe that empowering women and protecting nature go hand in hand in creating a truly sustainable future.

As part of our Female Trekking Guide Training (FTGT), participants gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience on environmental conservation. They learn about the 3R principles — Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, and how small, mindful actions during trekking can make a big difference in minimizing environmental impact.

  • During the training, participants actively engage in waste collection activities:
Twice during Environmental Classes, where they learn about sustainability and waste segregation techniques,
  • Twice during the closing week’s one-day educational trek of both sessions, they collected waste along the trekking trails, helping to keep the routes clean and preserve the natural beauty for future generations.

In addition, our 3 Sisters guides and staff, EWN staff, office team, and guest house members take part in community clean-up campaigns during World Environment Day (June) and Earth Day (April) across Pokhara and nearby areas. These events foster teamwork and remind everyone of their shared responsibility toward the environment.

Through these collective efforts, over 3,600 kilograms of waste have been collected so far including 60 kilograms this year (2025) alone. Each initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to the 3P philosophy — People, Planet, and Prosperity

  • People – raising environmental awareness and empowering women through action,
  • Planet – protecting natural resources and trekking environments,
  • Prosperity – building a sustainable tourism model that benefits both communities and nature.

Together, we strive to ensure that every step we take leaves only footprints of care — not waste — contributing to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Nepal. 🌿
