Empowering Women of Nepal

We are delighted to share the successful completion of the 50th Basic Female Trekking Guide Training 2026 and on-the-job paid apprenticeship program, celebrated through a meaningful closing ceremony in the presence of our distinguished guests:

Mani Raj Lamichhane – Senior Director & Chief, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Gandaki Province
Sudip Aryal – Head of Field Office for Gandaki and Lumbini, UNDP
Manjula Khatri – Project Assistant (Admin & Logistics, STP)

The program was gracefully chaired by Lucky Karki Chhetri, Executive Director of Empowering Women of Nepal.

Participants from the Api Himal, Kanchenjunga, and Manaslu regions began this journey as newcomers to Pokhara and the tourism sector. Over the course of the training, they gained valuable knowledge, practical trekking skills, and hands-on experience in tourism, taking an important step toward building professional careers as female trekking guides.

This milestone reflects our continued commitment to empowering women through skill development, leadership, and sustainable tourism opportunities in Nepal’s mountain communities.

Congratulations to all the participants for their dedication and achievement!
