Empowering Women of Nepal

This year, EWN launched a Taekwondo program for children in Lakeside, responding to the growing need for healthy, active spaces where young can learn discipline, confidence, and teamwork. With many children spending increased time on mobile phones and having limited access to sports facilities, we introduced a six-month pilot project titled “Empowering Children Through Taekwondo.”

The pilot exceeded all expectations. A total of 23 children aged 6–13 participated, and the enthusiastic support from parents and the local community encouraged us to expand the initiative. Building on this success, we have now begun a year-long Taekwondo training program starting from November, creating a consistent and nurturing environment for children to grow physically and emotionally.

We were honored to welcome Mr. Lalit Bahadur Dhami, Mr. Tribhuvan Baniya Gupta, and our donor from Ekipi, Mr. Indrajeet Sen, whose presence and encouragement greatly motivated our young learners.

We are also proud to celebrate an incredible milestone our Taekwondo students participated in the 1st Maya’s Gandaki Province-Level Open Taekwondo Championship 2082, delivering outstanding performances:

🥇 Dikshya Baral — 1st Position
🥈Abisha Adhikari — 2nd Position

Their achievements are especially inspiring considering that both joined the Taekwondo classes only a few months ago. These moments remind us that with the right guidance, dedication, and opportunities, children can rise beyond expectations.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Coach Mr. Nishan Karki, whose dedication, discipline, and encouragement have been the driving force behind the success of our Taekwondo program. His patient guidance, structured training approach, and genuine care for each child have helped build confidence, focus, and strong values among our young participants. We are truly grateful for his commitment and the positive impact he continues to make in our community.

We look forward to introducing more programs like this in the future—initiatives that not only enrich children’s skills and confidence but also create opportunities that can support their families and strengthen our community as a whole.

EWN remains committed to creating more platforms where children can grow, shine, and build a brighter future.
